Blue Harbour

Find it at the design gate, while it’s still a drawing.

We read every document on your project together and find the conflicts no single reviewer can see, while fixing them is still a drawing revision.

More detail

How it works

We work from the documents the project already has. Nothing touches your systems. Every page is read and checked a second time against the original. Documents are compared wherever they talk about the same thing, and drawings are measured into a 3D model at checked scale. On the project below, that was 3,357 separate references, each traceable to its page.

One recent project

An operating public market in Australia, in early design. A competent team, and nothing had gone wrong yet.

Two new stairs were approved only if the car park was sprinklered. A separate pack proposed cutting those sprinklers. Nothing linked the two.

What a finding looks like

Illustrative wording. The real documents are confidential.

Fire engineering report, p.14
New stairs S3 and S4 are acceptable on the basis that the basement car park is fully sprinkler protected.
Cost plan, value engineering options, p.6
Option 7: delete sprinkler system to basement car park.

CriticalOption 7 removes the condition the stair approval depends on. Neither document refers to the other.

What we find
01Documents that disagree
One space promised to three different uses, each in a different consultant’s report.
02Savings that break approvals
A cost cut in one pack that removes the condition another approval depends on.
03Out-of-date references
Two current documents written against different editions of the building code.
04Clashes in the geometry
A new layout sitting inside a vehicle path drawn years earlier.

Found now, it’s a drawing revision. Found on site, it’s rework, delay and a variation.
